Websites fundamental during times of crisis
Amidst the tragedy of the Victorian Bushfires come the stories of community strength, and people coming together to offer money, goods and their time. During this time we have seen how the internet plays a fundamental role in giving people easy access to contribute, and linking support with organisations.
Social Networking and Accessibility - recent bushfires highlight issues
Last week Media Access Australia posted a news article on their site 'Social networking access issues highlighted by bushfire tragedy'. The article raises some good points about the appropriateness of using sites such as Twitter, Flickr, Facebook and MySpace which are largely inaccessible to those with disabilities.

New Home for Energetica Team
Late last week the Energetica team were given the keys to our new home in Surry Hills. We have acquired space in a fantastic office complex at 61 Marlborough Street. The move is an exciting evolution for Energetica as our team has expanded over the past year. We will be trialling the space for the next three months, just to make sure it is a perfect fit for our needs.
Energetica Presents at ABCD Conference
Last week Lyndsey Jackson from Energetica spoke at the inaugural ABCD Asia Pacific Conference in Newcastle. ABCD stands for Asset Based Community Development and is a strengths based approach to community development.
New Site for NUAA
Last month Energetica completed a website for the NUAA. NUAA is a New South Wales peer-based organisation concerned with the use of illicit drugs.
