The Government 2.0 Taskforce has launched the MashUpAustralia contest. Part of the role of the Taskforce is to look at the issue of public sector data, particularly when and where data should be available for public access.
The contest is a way to highlight the innovative ways data can be used and how and access to public sector data strengthens the knowledge, research and evidence that underpins the important work of not-for-profits. A number of Government agencies have provided their data sets for the contest.
The MashUpAustralia closing date has been extended until November 13 and the contest is open to individual and group entries.
It is well worth regularly visiting the Gov 2.0 Taskforce website, the taskforce team are prolific bloggers and their is a sense of community as discussions have developed around the central themes of the Taskforce's scope.
